My Top 5 Films of 2020
2020 was an awful year. The pandemic took a toll on a lot of factors, cinema being one of them. Apart from major releases being delayed to next year (understandably so), many movie theaters closed for the time being, including the one I worked at. That’s fun, right? It wasn’t easy being a movie-goer. With that, there weren’t a lot of movies that caught my eye or I just didn’t have access to.
There were some new movies that I watched and liked enough to add to the list. Most of these aren’t what I call masterpieces or high art; I just enjoyed them the most, that’s all. Because of these circumstances, I’m lifting the “theatrical release only” rule from my previous lists. Movies that made their debut through streaming and not theaters are now qualified from here on out. Take note that I missed out on movies like Tenet and Bill and Ted Face the Music for various reasons.
Without further ado, these are my Top 5 Films of 2020.
